Dualfie — Support

Dualfie records with the front and back cameras of your iPhone at the same time and shows you in a circle over the scene. Something not working? Start here.

Common questions

The app says my iPhone isn't supported

Dualfie needs an iPhone that can use the front and back cameras at once: iPhone XS, XS Max, XR or newer.

The picture is black, or the app asks for permission

Open Settings → Dualfie and turn on Camera and Microphone. Saving needs Photos set to “Add Photos Only” or “All Photos”.

Where are my videos and photos?

In the Photos app, under Recents. If saving fails, Dualfie shows a message with a “Try Again” button; check Settings → Dualfie → Photos if it keeps failing.

The volume buttons change the volume instead of recording

They start and stop recording on iOS 17.2 or later while the camera screen is ready. While the app is starting up or saving a video they work as usual.

Which zoom buttons should I see?

It depends on the lenses of your iPhone: 0.5× needs an ultra-wide camera, 3× needs a telephoto camera.

My iPhone gets warm and the frame rate drops

Recording with two cameras is demanding. When the iPhone gets hot, Dualfie lowers the frame rate and shows a “Warm” notice. Let the phone cool down for a few minutes.

Can I record in landscape, or restyle the circle after recording?

Not yet. Recording is in portrait, and the circle is recorded exactly as you see it on screen.
